These Installation, Commissioning and Use Conditions form an integral part of:
● the Airturb General Terms and Conditions
● the Airturb Product Warranty Policy
● the Airturb Product Performance Disclaimer
● the Airturb Distributor Terms & Conditions
These Installation and Use Conditions define the minimum technical, safety, regulatory and professional requirements for the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Airturb wind turbine products.
Airturb products are electrical power generation systems and must be installed and operated exclusively by qualified professionals in accordance with applicable laws, engineering standards and electrical safety regulations.
Failure to comply with these conditions may:
• void the warranty
• create safety risks
• lead to immediate termination of warranty rights.
Airturb products may only be installed by installers who meet the following minimum requirements.
Installers must:
• be a registered professional installation company
• have demonstrable experience in electrical installations
• comply with all national and local electrical and building regulations
• carry appropriate liability insurance.
Installers must ensure that personnel working on the installation are competent and trained professionals.
Installers operating in the Netherlands must comply with the following certification and regulatory frameworks.
Electrical installation standards
Electrical installations must comply with:
• NEN 1010 – Dutch standard for low-voltage electrical installations
• NEN 3140 – electrical safety and operational safety for installations
• NEN-EN-IEC 60204 where applicable.
Installer certification
Installers should possess at least one of the following certifications:
• InstallQ certification
• SEI recognition
• BRL 6000-21 certification (sustainable energy systems).
Grid connection compliance
Installations connected to the Dutch electricity grid must comply with:
• Netbeheer Nederland requirements
• grid operator connection standards
• NEN 1010 grid integration provisions.
Construction regulations
Installations mounted on buildings must comply with:
• Bouwbesluit / Dutch Building Decree
• structural load requirements
• roof safety regulations.
Structural verification must be performed by a qualified structural engineer.
Installers operating in the United Kingdom must comply with the following regulatory standards.
Electrical installation standards
Electrical work must comply with:
• BS 7671 – IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
• Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
• Building Regulations Part P (electrical safety in dwellings).
Installer certification
Installers must be certified by a recognized UK certification body, such as:
• NICEIC Approved Contractor
• NAPIT Certified Installer
• ELECSA certification
• MCS certification where required for renewable systems.
Grid connection requirements
Grid-connected installations must comply with:
• G98 / G99 grid connection standards
• requirements from the relevant Distribution Network Operator (DNO).
Structural compliance
Roof-mounted or building-mounted installations must comply with:
• UK Building Regulations
• structural engineering requirements
• wind loading standards (Eurocode EN 1991-1-4).
Structural assessment must be performed by a qualified structural engineer.
Before installation the installer or project developer must confirm that the installation location is structurally suitable.
Structural assessment must evaluate:
• roof load capacity
• mounting system strength
• vibration tolerance
• wind load resistance
• fatigue loads.
Airturb does not assume responsibility for structural calculations.
Structural verification must be documented.
Installers must follow:
• the official Airturb installation manual
• engineering drawings supplied by Airturb
• electrical integration guidelines
• all applicable national and local safety standards.
Deviation from installation instructions may void the warranty.
Electrical integration must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Electrical work must include:
• correct grounding
• overvoltage protection
• correct inverter integration
• safe connection to electrical distribution systems.
Airturb is not responsible for damages resulting from:
• incorrect wiring
• incompatible electrical components
• improper grounding
• grid faults or instability.
Installers performing installation of Airturb products must maintain appropriate insurance coverage including:
• professional liability insurance
• public liability insurance
• installation liability coverage.
Installers must provide proof of insurance upon request.
Installation work must comply with applicable health and safety legislation.
In particular:
Netherlands
• Arbowet (Working Conditions Act)
• workplace safety regulations.
United Kingdom
• Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
• Work at Height Regulations 2005
• Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
Installers must implement appropriate safety procedures when working at height.
After installation the installer must document the installation.
Documentation must include:
• installation photos
• structural verification
• electrical diagrams
• commissioning checklist
• serial numbers of installed equipment.
Failure to document the installation may invalidate warranty claims.
Owners and installers must ensure periodic inspection and maintenance.
Maintenance may include:
• visual inspection of turbine components
• checking mounting bolts
• inspection of electrical wiring
• cleaning and inspection of moving parts.
The following modifications are prohibited without written approval from Airturb:
• structural modifications
• electrical alterations
• firmware changes
• replacement of components with non-approved parts.
Unauthorized modifications void the warranty.
Airturb shall not be liable for damages caused by:
• installation errors
• structural failures of buildings
• incorrect electrical integration
• failure to comply with national regulations.
Liability for installation remains with the installer and project developer.
These Installation and Use Conditions are governed by Dutch law.
Any disputes shall be submitted exclusively to the competent court of Rotterdam.
